Power Unleashed: The Who At The Isle Of Wight 1970

New York, NY (October 24, 2006) —On October 31st, Eagle Rock Entertainment, through its wholly-owned Eagle Vision subsidiary, will release a “Special Edition” of Murray Lerner’s historic rock film of The Who’s legendary performance in 1970 at The Isle Of Wight Rock Festival.

The Who: Live At The Isle of Wight 1970 improves upon the film’s original stereo release by adding DTS Surround-Sound and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround-Sound, created by lead guitarist/composer Pete Townshend from the original masters. Extras include a 40-minute interview with Townshend as well as two songs that were left off the original film, “Substitute” and “Naked Eye.”

With The Who’s 2006 tour in support of its new Endless Wire album in full swing and the release of Who’s Next as part of Eagle Vision’s Classic Albums DVD series, the time couldn’t be better to see the original, unvarnished, unexpurgated, rampaging 1970 Who lineup of Townshend, singer Roger Daltrey, and the late rhythm section of drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle. It’s an hour and a half of pure electricity.

Other tracks include “Heaven And Hell,” “I Can’t Explain,” “Young Man Blues,” “I Don’t Even Know Myself,” “Water,” “Shakin’ All Over/Spoonful/Twist And Shout” medley, “Summertime Blues,” “My Generation,” “Magic Bus” and a 14-song Tommy mini-set.

Previous entries in the Isle of Wight series include classic sets by Miles Davis, Emerson Lake & Palmer and Jethro Tull.
