THE BLUES MAGOOS

TUNE INTO TO SIRIUS 60’s CHANNEL FOR GUEST DJ SHOW

HIT SONG “WE AIN’T GOT NOTHIN’ YET” RECENTLY FEATURED ON LILYHAMMER!

As 2014 winds down, The Blues Magoos have a lot to celebrate! The band recently released their first new album in over 40 years: Psychedelic Resurrection (October 14 – Kayos). In honor of this, vocalist/guitarist Peppy Castro and lead vocalist/keyboardist Ralph Scala were invited to guest DJson Sirius/XM’s 60s Channel!

Additionally, the famed Magoos hit “We Ain’t Got Nothin’ Yet” was featured on a recent episode of the Netflix television series Lilyhammer, starring Steven Van Zandt. When did this psychedelic classic come into play?... When one of the characters brings out a bong, of course!

"We Ain't Got Nothing Yet....But Somehow Little Steven makes sure we do,” states Castro. Thanks Steven, for keeping The Blues Magoos alive and well in Lilyhammer!"

The Blues Magoos Top 5 1966 single, “We Ain’t Got Nothin’ Yet” was featured on their debut album Psychedelic Lollipop. The band recently re-recorded it for Psychedelic Resurrection.

Original members Castro, Scala, and drummer Geoff Daking have been joined by new members Mike Ciliberto (guitar) and Peter Stuart Kohlman (bass) for the recording of the 12-song album, which includes both re-recordings of their classic songs and new material. Original Blues Magoos Mike Esposito (lead guitar) and Ron Gilbert (bassist) made cameos on the album.

The Blues Magoos were the forefathers of garage punk, playing an integral role in the 1960s’ New York Greenwich Village scene. Psychedelic Resurrection is a celebration and reclamation of that sound and the band’s legacy. This tout to The Blues Magoos on Lilyhammer couldn’t have come at a better time!

Fans can tune into The Blues Magoos 60s Channel guest spot when it airs on the following dates:

Monday, December 29 – 1:00PM EST
Tuesday, December 30 – 5:00PM EST
Friday, January 2 – 11:00PM EST
Sunday, January 4 – 9:00AM EST
